The idea for Eco Chic came about from a struggle to find lifestyle pieces that were sustainable, durable and eye-catching. The brand started selling in 2004 from a stall in Camden; twenty years later and they now stock products in over 1000 retail shops in the UK and across Europe.
Eco Chic’s mission is to create fun, practical and long-lasting pieces from recycled or sustainable materials. Designed to go against waste culture, they are committed to drive change that benefits people and the planet.
How Eco Chic are helping the environment
Eco Chic decided to focus on the overuse of plastic products. In 2020 they helped recycle over 1 million plastic bottles and their current goal is to save 10 million plastic bottles from the landfill and ocean by the end of 2025. Eco Chic’s range of bags, umbrellas, waterproof ponchos and pet accessories are made of fabric created from recycled plastic bottles.
How the Eco Chic fabric is made
Made from 100% recycled plastic bottles, the bottles are shredded and woven into fabric which is then turned into bags, umbrellas and many other items. Each bag uses 6 recycled plastic bottles.

Eco Chic Foldaway Backpacks
Great for travel and shopping, these backpacks fold down to fit in another bag. When needed, open out and pack it with whatever you need. With an 18 litre capacity and ability to hold 15kg it’s great for heavy groceries as carrying on your back is better for you. Mini backpacks are also available which are great for kids.
Eco Chic Lunch Bags
Fantastic for school, work or picnics, these insulated lunch bags keep food and drinks at the right temperature for up to three hours. Available in a range of prints, they fold down saving you storage space when not in use.
