About Jellycat

Established in London in 1999 by brothers Thomas and William Gatacre, the Jellycat brand has gone from strength to strength. There are now thousands of gorgeous toys to choose from and new ranges launched twice a year. The toys are both original and quirky and sumptuously soft made from luxurious fabric making them the perfect gifts for all ages.

Why is it called Jellycat?

The name Jellycat actually came from the mind of Jellycat founder Thomas Gatacre’s son who loved cats and jellies and would giggle at the thought of combining the two.

What types of Jellycat ranges are there?

Jellycat toys are super soft and come in a range of colours and textured fabrics. Whether you are looking for a gift for a tennis fanatic, a pizza lover or someone obsessed with guinea pigs, there’s a Jellycat for them. There are books, bags, keyrings and comforters in many of the favourite characters - Jellycat Jack, Bashful Puppy, Bartholomew Bear and more - too.

Jellycat Bashfuls

These make perfect gifts for new babies and small children especially the bashful bunnies with their soft fur and long ears and arms that make them so easy to be held on to. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ daughter Suri Cruise was famously spotted with one when she was small. Popular Bashfuls other than the bunnies include Bashful Black and White Puppy, Bashful Giraffe - but there are also many others ranging from dinosaurs to foxes. Comforters, blankets and soft baby toys such as rattles are also available in favourite characters.

Jellycat Blossoms

These are one of our favourites. Pretty little bunnies in soft pastel colours with cotton floral ears and pads on their paws in a range of printed patterns. They make lovely presents for Easter and spring or summer birthdays.

Jellycat Animals

Children and adults can’t help but fall in love with the Jellycat animals. Even royalty can’t resist - Princess Charlotte owns a Fuddlewuddle Puppy! With dogs and cats, bears, birds, animals from the jungle and creatures from the sea, the range is enormous! Fuddlewuddles with their soft tousled fur, Cordy Roys with their textured cord fur, Smudges that stretch out with floppy arms and legs, it’s very hard to choose who to take home.

Jellycat Quality

Each Jellycat toy is tested to meet international safety standards and bears the relevant marks, giving you peace of mind when buying gifts for children.

They are easy to look after too. The ones for babies and young children have been designed to be able to be washed in a washing machine at 30 degrees Celsius (just make sure not to tumble dry or iron!) As for a toy to be loved, it's going to get dirty sometimes. Other toys can be wiped down by hand.
