About Selbrae House
Selbrae House is a family-run business in Fife, Scotland. Founded in 2006 as The Just Slate Company by Donny Carstairs, the business is run with the support of his siblings, Colin and Emma, together with their parents Louise and Ian. It is Emma's initial sketches that are transformed to the finished homeware products through the careful production oversight by Colin, with Donny steering the business through the entire process.
Why did Selbrae House change their name from The Just Slate Company?
Selbrae House changed its name from The Just Slate Company to better reflect the wider range of products and to highlight their Scottish heritage. Originally starting with only slate products, the range has now expanded to include items made from sustainable Scottish oak, olive wood, and linen. The rebrand was also intended to communicate their dedication to contemporary style and natural character.

Selbrae House now uses a variety of natural materials. Slate, oak, stainless steel, linen and olive wood all feature, chosen for durability, sustainability and beauty.
Gift ranges
Selbrae House has a wide range of tableware and glassware created for personal use or to give as gifts. Serveware
