The story behind Willow Tree
Artist Susan Lordi began Willow Tree back in 2000. Her desire was to create a unique and pure shape without detail so that the emotion is portrayed through gesture only.
How Willow Tree sculptures are made
Each original figurine is carved by Lordi in her art studio in Kansas City, Missouri, USA. These original sculptures are then cast in resin - which captures all her knife marks - before being painted by hand.
